Marshall Williams featured on PBS program
PBS program to feature interview with 2012 Bishop’s Shield Award recipient, Marshall Williams of St. Peter’s, West Allis
- by Marshall Williams
Feeling humbled and honored to be interviewed and featured in the premiere broadcast of this new local public television program. I have been told by the producer of the segment, that I will be featured first on this show's debut. In the interview, I share my experiences at visiting my father's grave for the first time since his death during the close of World War II. My twin and I never knew our father except from stories from our family, and letters he wrote to them. I had the rare opportunity to travel to England last year, to lay to rest the remains of a dear friend at my church in Wisconsin. One of her daughters paid my way to travel with them to England. I took the opportunity to make a side trip of my own, to see my father's grave at Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery in Belgium. My twin and I were born in January of 1945, our father lost his life in February of that same year. I am thankful for having made the trip, and I am humbled and honored to share a little about my father and what he means to me.
