St. Peters Episcopal Church in Fort Atkinson Plans 3rd Gala Event
Back to Downton Abbey: The Roaring Twenties! will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the historic Fort Atkinson Club in downtown Fort Atkinson on the Rock River.
Once again, and to celebrate the final season, the Gala will spotlight the PBS television series, Downton Abbey. The series chronicled the Crowley family and its servants, set in England at the turn of the twentieth century through the 1920’s. In Fort Atkinson, Episcopal services were held regularly since 1860—but the current church was completed in 1929. This Gala is a benefit for the church, with all proceeds going directly to St. Peters toward their operational costs.
The evening will begin with a social hour and live and silent auction viewing in the renovated lower level of the fort Atkinson Club, overlooking the Rock River. Music and a sing-a-long of popular tunes will delight. A three course dinner will be served in the upper level, in the Crowley manor house style. The evening will then continue with a live auction and announcement of the silent auction and raffle winners. Many lovely items will be donated by individuals and area businesses.
Tickets for the event will go on sale in June. Tickets will be $50 a piece or purchase a table of eight for $350. Reservations are essential, and get your tickets early as this event has been a sell-out. Period dress is optional. If you cannot attend, but have something that you wish to donate for the event, it would be most welcomed. At the last Gala, a lovely set of Sterling Silver flatware was donated and was auctioned off at a handsome price for the parish.
