Part I: The First of Many

    Description
Dr. Paul Haubrich shares his research on the beginnings of St. Paul's, Milwaukee and the beginnings of the diocese. Delving into the primary sources, Paul Haubrich is able to paint a picture of an early community that, within two decades, goes from being too primitive to warrant its own rector to one that could count amongst its members some of Milwaukee's political and business elites.

    Broad Perspective
In 1787, the Second Continental Congress adopted the Northwest Ordinance, which laid out the process for areas northwest of the Ohio River to become organized states in the Union. Amongst its many provisions, it guaranteed freedom of worship for anyone "demeaning himself in a peaceable and orderly manner."

    Scripture
Acts 2: 42 (NIV) They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
