How to Navigate This Site
The easiest way to use this site is to click the
"Sitemap" link at left. This page gives a hierarchical outline of all
our content, and if you click "Expand all," you'll see links to every
single page.
When you're looking at a page that's neither at the
top nor the bottom of the hierarchy, you can use the links at the top
and bottom of the page to move up or down, respectively.
Finally, note that many pages contain Attachments
(documents, photos, etc.). To open an Attachment, click the link. To
download it, right-click the link and choose the menu item that says
something like "Save Link As..."
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do I make the text bigger?
Each Web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.) includes an accessibility feature that allows you to enlarge the text and or images within the pages you view. Try the keystroke Ctrl++ (hold the Control key and the + key at the same time) or try your browser's View menu and look for options relating to zooming or font/text size.
I can't find the content I'm looking for. What can I do?
This site is powered by Google and includes an excellent search feature. Scroll to the top of any page and enter a search term describing what you're looking for in the tex box next to the "Search Site" botton. When you click the button, a list of possible matches will suggest appropriate pages from the site.
Why is my page or document taking so long to load?
Photographs and scanned images often cause file sizes to be very large. Users with dial-up connections may have difficulty viewing these large files. We will do our best to keep file sizes small whenever possible. We appreciate your patience as we learn how to better accomodate users with slower connections.
My PDF file won't print right. What do I do?
When printing a PDF file, you need to use the printer icon that is "built in" to your Adobe Reader software (see the circle below), NOT the "File > Print" or "File > Print Preview" options in your browser's menu (the 'x' below). Please note: When clicking "View" to look at a PDF attachment on any of this site's pages, a preview of the document will open using Google's built-in PDF viewer (NOT Adobe Reader). Unfortunately, Google does not currently support properly formatted printing of documents from this viewer. If you need to print any PDF posted to the Diocese of Milwaukee Web site, your best bet is always to use the "Download" link. We apologize for the inconvenience; we are at the mercy of the Google Sites development team concerning whether they decide to support this feature.
