The Diocese is in the process of building and organizing the new and growing Diocesan Resourc e Center which is currently located at St. Francis House in Madison.  I wanted to let you know what we have and what we would like from you and your parish.

 

There are three main ways that we will build our Diocesan Resource Center (DRC) throughout the years.

 

The first is that we are a member of the Church Publishing Resource Center program which sends us books and curricula regularly, thus building our library with new materials each month.  If you are looking for curricula or if you have seen a new book from Church Publishing that you would like to look at, please let us know and can arrange a way for you to look at these items.

 

The second way that we are going to build the DRC is for each parish to look through the resources that it currently has that they would be willing to donate to the DRC.  You could either loan it to the DRC, which means you could then get it back at any point OR you could donate it to the DRC which means it would then become a permanent part of the DRC.  What are we looking for you may ask?  Think about books, videos, DVD’s or Vacation Bible School curricula that you have used in the past, you are not planning to use them in the future, and now they are taking up storage space at your church.  Did you have a book study and you have a few extra copies of the book that you would be willing to donate?   If you have items to donate or loan to us, please let me know by filling out the attached form and I will arrange to pick them up.

 

The third way for us to build the DRC is for you, the parishes, to ask for items that you would like to use in your parish for a brief period of time and then we would place them in the DRC for others to use.  Is there a book that you would like to read with your parish, do you want to do a video series for your newcomers, do you need a book for your youth group, but you do not have the funds to purchase it?  Please fill out the DRC Purchase Request Form and send it to me.  We have $500 each quarter that we can use to purchase new materials, so each request will be weighed for its appeal to the broader community.  If we are not able to purchase the items for you, we might be able to help in another way.
