"Following the Star" to be presented January 6 at St. Matthias, Waukesha
The Gutekunst Flute Choir presents FOLLOWING THE STAR January 6, 2017 at 7:30 pm at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, Waukesha, Wisconsin
St. Matthias Episcopal Church is located at the Corner of Main Street and East Avenue, Waukesha, WI, 53186.
The centerpiece of the Epiphany program, FOLLOWING THE STAR, is the Biblical account of the Christmas story through narration and music, culminating in the arrival of the Three Kings at the stable to honor the newborn King.
Karen Gutekunst founded a flute choir in 2002. Adding flutists over time to reach their present size of 14 members, this local group performs at public and private venues throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Originally the “Ladies of Flute”, the group adopted its current name after Ms.Gutekunst sadly passed away in 2010. Members feel her name, which means “Good Art” in German, is a fitting tribute to the talented musician and friend who brought them together. The group loves to make beautiful music in her memory.
This concert is a fund raising event for the music department of St. Matthias
