United Thank Offering (UTO) Focus Announced for 2017 -- Grant Applications Available

The focus for the United Thank Offering grants for 2017 has been announced. This year
it is broad in scope giving entities an opportunity to be creative. It is "Evangelism, reconciliation, and following Jesus' way of creating, loving, liberating, and life-giving relationships with God, each other and all creations - the Jesus Movement!"

Each diocese can submit one application for a diocesan program and one application for a companion/diocesan partnership program. If more applications are received by the diocese the UTO diocesan committee evaluates the application and determines which one is the best application to fit the criteria. The applications are then passed on to the Bishop with their recommendations and the Bishop is the final person to approve the applications.

The diocesan calendar for the application process is a deadline of February 1st, 2017. This will give the committee the opportunity to review the application, ask questions if needed and make changes in concert with the applicant to clarify the application. The committee will then pass their recommendations on to the Bishop by February 10th for final approval and the diocesan office will send the application on to the UTO Board by the first Friday in March.

A reminder - if your parish has had an in-gathering for UTO this year and the money has not been passed on - please send it now so it can be sent on to the National Board for the 2017 grants. Send the checks by Dec. 20th to Connie Ott - UTO diocesan coordinator 7995 Shagbark Circle, Cross Plains, WI 53528.

Please go to episcopalchurch.org/page/uto-grants for further information and/or contact the diocesan coordinator - Connie Ott - - 608-798-3688 with any questions regarding the UTO program or the application process.
