The health and dental insurance is administered by the national church
Medical Trust. It is available to all parishes, their staff and clergy.
The national guidelines are that insurance must be offered to all
employees working 20 hours or more a week. The health plan includes
drug, vision and mental health coverage. The dental plan is a separate
plan that can be taken out by itself or with the health plan. Parishes
are not obligated to offer these plans they may go outside the Diocesan
offerings and find their own policy.
If you are interested in obtaining health and / or dental coverage please look over the information below. There are policies that are different and cover or have different out of pocket amounts and deductibles. You may fill out the enrollment form and fax or mail it to Patty at the diocese. The enrollment form should be accompanied with a letter from a member of the Vestry of the parish indicating the employee, name of insurance plan, dental or not, level of coverage (employee, employee + one, family) and the effective date. If you have any questions please call Patty at ext. 156 or email her at patty@diomil.org. See the attached document for the diocesan health insurance standards, or see the insurance page under Human Resources. |
