In the Diocese of Milwaukee, parishes are divided on a regional basis into Convocations (see the attached document for the full Convocation structure). The Convocations exist to meet on an as needed/when needed for a specific reason or mission initiative. The member congregatons are, of course, welcome to meet for whatever purpose, and at whatever time they wish, but at present there is no expectation or requirement that they meet unless expressly requested by the Bishop to do so.

The Convocation structure may prove useful in fostering mutual engagement by combining gifts and resources to use in joint ministires.  It also may serve as a vehicle for trainings, listening sessions, and a way to gather to share best practices and fellowship with neighboring congregations.

Shortly after Easter, Bishop Miller will appoint one priest from each Convocation to serve as Dean, and is going to ask the Deans to gather the clergy of their respective Convocations on a quarterly basis for study, fellowship, or other mutually agreed upon activity. The sole purpose of these gatherings will be to strengthen the relationships among area clergy.
