In December of 2007, Bishop Miller called for the creation of the Christian Formation Task Force to look at all Christian Formation in the Diocese of Milwaukee.   The bishop has charged the task force with looking at and evaluating all aspects of formation for children, youth, young adults and adults and then creating a proposal for the direction and vision of Christian Formation throughout the diocese.  Our goal is to create vision and road map for a comprehensive and effective formation program in which the diocese can support, encourage, resource and help create formation on a parish, convocational and diocesan level. 

The task force has begun its work by gathering information on current programming and needs.  We are hoping that we will be able to call, meet with or gather written information (such as surveys and questionnaires) from each congregation, priest and Christian formation person in the diocese.  We ask that when you receive a survey, phone call, email or letter from the task force that you respond to it so that your voice and the voices of those in your parish and/or convocation can be heard.  We will be gathering information on what you are currently doing, what is working and what is not working, what you would like to be doing, what you feel is needed from the diocese, and what would help you in your programming and formation.

Once we gather as much information as we can, the task force will then compile the information that has been gathered and will begin evaluating the outcome.  Finally, once we feel that we understand the information we have gathered, we will create a vision and a road map for the diocese.  The vision brought forth from this task force will be a piece of our discussions at Executive Council in June and at the Diocesan Convention in October of 2008.
